Fender Stratocaster

Guitar is the lightest weighing strat ive owned around 6 pounds on bath scale which is not accurate.

Body is a very old refinished olympic white 2 piece alder. Has very fine checking all over it. Dowel tooling holes are evident and typical pre cbs tooling marks in body cavities. Dated in tremolo cavity 10-60 with original sunburst paint. Also original sunburst paint in neck pocket. Still has the deep late 50s contour.

Neck has had a jumbo refret but otherwise all original. Has the flamed stripe pattern on back of neck with most laquer worn off. Hardly any pitting on rosewood just more of a polished look so i would say its been well looked after and had more the 1 refret. The frets are about half worn in current state so will need a refret again soon if your a player. It retains original nut which has been out and shimmed. Both tooling holes evident. Dated 1-61. Original single line klusons D169-400. Would have to say nicest feeling neck ive played and well looked after. Medium chunky feel with a D to C shape SRV feel.

Pickguard assembly has a fatboy pickguard which was cut from original nitrate material from 60s and is limited and comes with signed form. Aluminium shield is original with red stamping. Volume pot is dated 43nd week 1960. Tone pots dated 4th-5th week 1961 which i had installed but not original. Pickups and covers original however i replaced 1 pickup which cost $800 from 1961. There is 3 original pickup adjustment donuts and other 3 taken from a 63 fender bass in good condition. There has been some resoldering. Knobs, switch and covers are original. Pickguard screws, pickup and switch screws are original. Has a later crl 5 way switch installed.

Complete original trem bridge unit which still has the finer stamped pat pend saddles like the 50s. Original trem arm and tip. Tremolo cover original. Original jack cup, screws and input jack. Original neck plate 58###.  Original tremolo cover with screws.

Case is excellent condition for its age. Last of the brown tolex cases with latch under handle 59-60. It moved beside handle 1961.
