1992 Fender USA 1962 Stratocaster Reissue - Relic Strat in
Fiesta Red

1992 Fender USA 1962 Stratocaster Reissue

If you have never played a '62
American Vintage Reissue you are in for a real treat. Fender no
longer makes the '62 AVRI guitar.
I had bought this to sell
for its parts but after cleaning up the electrical components
and adjusting the bridge this old girl came to life again. So,
I'll list it here for
just one week to see if it strikes anybody's
fancy.

CONDITION
I'll take it a bit at a time...

NECK:
Excellent! There is very little fret wear, so light that I think
the frets must have been dressed recently. The neck is
surprisingly free of the usual dents or dings - there's only one
small ding on the back of the neck, and an even smaller ding on
the bottom side of the headstock. The Fender vintage tuners have
a wonderful aged look yet still work like new. The factory nut
looks good, the neck itself is straight, and the truss rod works
normally. The rosewood fretboard has no wear to speak of, and is
an interesting, lighter shade of wood. This is one truly
great-playing neck in fantastic condition.

BODY:
Well, they can't all be mint. The Fiesta Red finish looks great
until you look closely. It was refinished, and not well. Most of
the gloss has been sanded off too, and not evenly. I tried to
capture it in the pictures but it wasn't easy. There are many
scratches, and a few small dings scattered about. Fortunately,
there is no serious damage anywhere, and functionally the body
is fine. It wouldn't take much to refinish the body, but I'll
bet some folks would use it as-is. The Strat's alder wood is an
average weight and the contour feels just right against your
body.

SOUND:
True vintage Strat. From bluesy Hendrix to out-of-phase Dire
Straits to twangy bright county-rock sounds, nothing nails
classic Strat sounds better than the American Vintage Strats.
The original pots (with a 1991 date) and the switch are
noise-free. This AVRI has the stock 3-way pickup switch
installed. Add $5 for a new 5-way pickup switch.

THE REST:
You can't beat the Fender
USA vintage bridge with its big block, and this bridge has the
cool relic look down pat. All its adjustment screws function
as well as new. The original screw-in Fender USA tremolo bar
is included. The pickguard and back tremolo cover have the
usual wear with no cracks or other abuse. The neck plate has
the complete serial number, beginning with V06, the rest is
edited out to keep scammers away. This guitar is 100%
original. Well, except for that paint job.

THE CASE:
I'll include a tweed
hardshell case. It's not the original Fender case, but it is
in great shape, and the red fur inside is a perfect match for
the guitar's finish. I will not include the case with orders
shipped out of North America.

Ebay is still too cheap to give us any
more than 12 pictures in a listing, so click here for more pictures.

THE PRICE
INCLUDES:
The '62 AVRI Stratocaster itself, with its original tremolo
bar, and the pictured case. The price is firm.
If you don't want the case I can knock $25 off the price in
the USA. I offer a 5% discount for cash - email me for
details.

Why buy from me? Some of
you might think my descriptions are a little too verbose, but
I believe in giving a potential buyer all the information I have
about an item, with many high-quality photos to show you
EXACTLY what I have to offer. I also pack my items very well
with recycled packaging and ship quickly. I'm not a faceless
business but
a life-long guitarist who can give you the personal touch.
Your order won't get lost in the crowd!

SHIPPING in the USA: Use the eBay shipping
calculator to figure your exact costs. I have set it for
USPS Parcel Select in the USA, because I can't seem to get
eBay to calculate a realistic UPS rate. However, it will
most likely ship via UPS Ground. If you are not in the
continental USA, email me to confirm a shipping method and
price before
buying.

Shipping to
Canada: This item will ship via insured UPS Std.
International for $89. Add $25 if you'd prefer USPS Priority
Mail Express.

Shipping to
anywhere else: This gets complicated,
since many countries have a $650 maximum insurance
amount and/or size limits, and Paypal requires full
insurance and signature confirmation. So, I will ship
without a case, and with the neck and body in two
separate boxes. Yes, this is expensive: $159 to Europe
via Priority Mail Express, $169 to anywhere else. If you
use an alternate form of payment, this item can be
shipped much more inexpensively - contact me for
details. I reserve the right to refuse any Paypal
payment from out of the USA.

International

Shipping Notes - READ THIS if you are not in the USA!: I will declare the
actual sale value for customs - in fact, there is no way
for sellers to change the value with ebay global
shipping. ebay calculates the duties or taxes your
country charges and adds them to the shipping amount.
Due to ebay's inflexible rules, I CANNOT combine
shipping on multiple items shipped via ebay global
shipping. I sympathize with those who pay high taxes and
shipping costs, but please don't ask for other intl.
shipping options if you pay with Paypal - I won't
respond to such emails. Be aware that some countries
will take up to a month to process your imported item,
so be patient, or call your country's customs dept.
instead of mailing me. I have no idea what happens to
your package after it leaves the USA. I do not ship to
Italy, Argentina, Venezuela, or any other countries with
unreliable postal services. Finally, I will not accept
returns from outside of the USA for any reason, and by
buying this item you accept that condition. If that
makes you wary, check my excellent eBay feedback - much
of it from non-USA buyers.

Why ebay
shipping costs have become more expensive: It's not just higher
costs from the shipping companies. Thank FeeBay, for
charging sellers a final value fee on shipping (!!),
which forces sellers to raise our shipping costs to
buyers. This is in addition to eBay recently hiking it's
seller fees by over 10%! I suggest all ebay users
complain about this gouging when they receive their next
ebay survey. Unfortunately, there is no way to directly
complain to ebay's so-called "customer service" via
email or I would provide their address here.

This
item is also for sale locally and on Reverb.com, and
this listing may end without notice if it is sold.

So don't
just "watch" it, buy it now!

My

return policy and listing terms

It's not easy to see when you cruise a listing, but I go
through a lot of trouble to
honestly describe and picture my items in ebay to
(hopefully) make returns unnecessary.

Here's my
reasonable return and refund policy:

  • Please read the listing carefully in its
    entirety before
bidding or buying - people who don't are the people who
    tend to return items.
  • You MUST notify me of a
problem within 7 days of receipt, get an RMA & return
it within 14 days of receipt.
  • If the return is due to an
obvious fault of mine, I'll pay for return shipping. That
seems only fair. Otherwise, you pay for return
    shipping.
  • Shipping costs are generally
not refundable (I don't get that money back either), but
    I'm flexible.
  • Items that shipped for "free"
will have the actual shipping cost subtracted from their
    refund.
  • Buyer must agree to ebay sale
    cancellation prior to return.
  • Items sold "as-is", mean
exactly that: no returns for ANY reason. Most of my items
    are NOT sold as-is.
  • I will not accept returns from
outside of the USA for any reason.
  • This policy is non-negotiable,
and by bidding or buying you agree to it.
  • I accept the fact that people
make mistakes. Regardless of fault, I'll do my best to
    solve any problems!

EBAY LISTING TERMS:

Due to a couple of obnoxious
non-paying bidders I've had lately
(including one who was a complete PSYCHO),
I am forced to add these terms to my ebay
listings:

  • Before

you bid or buy, make sure you truly
want and are prepared to pay for the
item immediately. This is not a lot to
    ask!

  • Payment
is expected within 24 hours unless

    previous arrangements have been made.

  • If
I don't receive payment or at least an
email from the high bidder within 48
hours, the item will be sold to the
    second high bidder or relisted.
  • I
will not accept late payments, no
    matter what ebay's self-serving rules
    may state.
  • Shipping

costs are not negotiable, except for
    multiple items shipped together.
Email me if you have a question about
    combined shipping costs for multiple
    items.

  • If
you have any questions, please ask
them before the listing ends. Read the
    listing before emailing me -
chances are your answer is already
    there!
  • I
avoid ebay's bogus + corrupt feedback
system. If you want some feedback
anyway, leave it for me and I'll
    return the favor.
  • Those

who leave me a negative feedback or
file an ebay complaint without even
contacting me to resolve a problem can
    expect zero support afterwards.

  • New

ebay users with zero feedback: please
contact me before bidding. If you
don't your bid may be canceled.

  • Please

don't make me illicit offers to sell
    off-ebay through ebay! Although I
often sell through other websites, I
will not respond to any offers made
here for items I have for sale on ebay
(except for ebay items listed with the
    "Best Offer" option).

  • I
reserve the right to cancel bids and
    ignore emails from the mentally
    disturbed.

Thank you to all
my customers who paid their bids promptly. YOUR business
is greatly appreciated!
