What can I tell you about this amazing Custom Shop Stratocaster?
Well, they call it a Custom 59' Stratocaster on the COA, it was made in 2001.
The neck is maple and is both birdseye and flamed lightly, some of the pics do not do the neck justice, but I have tried to cover it the best I can (if you would like more, drop me a msg and I will try and do so).
It has a silver color anodized aluminum pickguard, and 50's style custom shop pickups.
It is NOS Black with a matching Black headstock. The neck is 7.25 radius and I believe vintage frets. The back shape of the neck, seems to me, to be a soft V, and is very nice to play. The body has nice contours and curves, definitely 50's style.
There are a few light scratches/scuffs from use, but very little for its' age. Comes with all shown in it's original G&G case, no keys.
I spoke with Rob at Fender customer service for some additional information as I was trying to find out some more background on the guitar. It turns out it is from a run of only 5 guitars done in 01 with the above specs.
All in all, I believe what they were going for in this run is sort of a "best of the 50's" type of Stratocaster. And the combination of the matching headstock, anodized pickguard, and the birdseye/flamed neck is just beautiful. Not to mention she really does sound and play amazing, and I am sorry to have to give her up. My loss is your gain! Enjoy and feel free to contact me with questions.
