DESCRIPTION:

This killer Strat was part
of the (infamous) Fat Sound Guitars series of guitars they did with the Fender
Custom Shop in 2006. It is a one-off TEAMBUILT 1960 Reissue Relic
Strat with pickups handwound by Abigail Ybarra ("Abby"), the legendary
pickup winder who has since retired from Fender. These are not the common AY
initialed pickups (where she simply oversaw the wiring being done by others)--these pickups were actually wound by her, and are signed "Abby" on the backs
(see pictures below). Sets of these pickups routinely sell on ebay for over
$500!

The guitar is a ripping 60 Reissue Strat in a luscious Sherwood Green Metallic
finish with the Relic finish treatment (lightly relic'd). The neck shape is
Fender's 10/56 V shape, which is a really comfortable profile (the neck
measures 0.861" at the first fret, 0.967" at the twelfth fret).
Ultra-dark slab rosewood fretboard (9.5" radius) and mint green pickguard
help give it a cool vintage vibe. The guitar weighs 7 pounds, 9 ounces on my
digital postal scale. It has an alder body.

The guitar has a full, rich sound and just rips through an amp. One of my most
favorite strat tones ever. A killer, playing and sounding strat!

The guitar is in near-mint condition (for a relic...), with no playing wear of
any kind. The OHS case is missing one of the little metal glides on the bottom,
but is in pretty good shape otherwise. In addition to the original case, it
comes with the requisite COA and all the case candy.
