Fender Stratocaster

This auction is for one set of Sklar single coils for the Stratocaster guitar.  These pickups are hand-made in San Francisco, California from the finest components available.  They are wound to vintage 50's Fender specifications and when installed in your guitar you get an extremely open, organic sound.  It's a great way to upgrade your sound without upgrading your guitar.  Highs are clear and airy, mids are strong and loaded with character, and lows are tight and punchy.  They are scatterwound with 42 gauge Formvar wire to 6.2k ohms in the neck and middle and a hotter 7.0k ohms in the bridge.  The middle pickup is reverse-wound/reverse-polarity so you get a humbucking effect in positions 2 and 4 of your pickup selector.  Formvar wire give you a warmer, smoother sound compared to other types of wire.  AlNiCo III magnets were used in early 50's Straotocasters and give you bright, twangy tone with sweet rounded highs, authentic early Fender tone.  Wax potted to reduce harmonics and built to vintage specifications right down to the cloth insulated wire and vulcanized fiber flatwork.  Covers are aged white (off white).
