fender strat 71542904375195040 1979 Fender Stratocaster

 Please email for more pictures.

Features: Hardtail, fat headstock, bullet style truss rod, 3 single coil pickups, 5 switch pickup selection, two tone knobs. Additional white pickguard included, black "sun" strap included, fitted case included.

Problems: NOT everything is from the original 1979 Strat. The nut was damaged upon purchase, renutted and intonated a few years ago by Dave Neely (http://www.neelyguitars.com/) in Hollywood. The body had been bored out by the previous owner in what looks like an attempt to install a humbucker in the bridge. I am pretty sure the pickups are after market, I had to purchase a volume knob and tone selector knob. But I believe the body, neck, and headstock are original. Theres a few small nicks in the bottom below the input. It is really a beautiful guitar.

Reason for selling: I bought this guitar and played it for a few months before I laid eyes on a music man silhouette special. My mouth dropped at it and my wallet opened simultaneously. Shortly after I found a PRS that made me drool enough to feel like vomiting. The Fender NEVER GETS PLAYED. It sits safely in it's case and gets no love. I need money to pay for a drumset anyway.

Please email for my telephone number and MORE PICTURES if you are interested.

Thanks,

Casey

Comments: It looks great, plays great, I'd recommend putting some
different pickups in there because some of the Strat tones are not as
apparent as in other Strats, but you might like whats in there.  The history is that I purchased it from GC Hollywood a few years ago, they told me it was an original 1975 Strat.  After playing it for a few minutes I bought it.  Got home to see in detail that the nut had been drilled as if to put two extra strings in "12 string style," on the high strings.  I took it to Dave Neely who told me it was not a 1975 but a 1979 with aftermarket parts.  He renutted and intonated it and it played beautifully ever since.
