Fender Stratocaster

*Please note this neck is for a tremolo equipped strat - Fender dropped the 'With Syncronized Tremolo" part of the logo during 1971 so they didn't have to use different logos for the trem and hardtail guitars. Thanks to 'honigtone' (see questions) for reminding me of something I probably should have mentioned earlier. 
This is the last time I will list this neck. It's a bargain at this price compared to current international prices ( check out Eddie Vegas or other 71 necks in the US.)and the Ebay fees make it even more painful to sell. I have some vintage guitars about to sell elsewhere. If they go I'll remove this listing immediately and hang onto this for a couple more years till they are $5G plus. The finish is good.) This is  a very nice original 1971 Stratocaster® neck. It's one of the very last four bolt necks made at the end of the Hendrix era of strats. This one comes with a really nice set of the correct 'hole through the side cover' 'F' heads ( I selected them from about thirty I have) and the  original string tree. No mods or extra screw holes. It's a super comfortable profile and sets up perfectly with very little truss rod tension needed with 10-46s. Frets are perfect. This neck is really stiff. I believe this is a result of good quality old growth maple and rosewood and most importantly the old style, single, one way truss rod. In my experience these old necks ALWAYS sound better than the modern two way style truss rod necks. The modern rods make too big a cavity and the neck is like a wet sock over a stick. The two way rods have adjustment both ways to compensate for the weakness they create in the first place. Controversial theory, I know, but I am right and no further correspondence will be entered into! A doughy, soft neck sucks up string energy and and kills volume, attack and sustain. Short story - the notes really leap off these old necks and the guitar has more dynamic range. Just so there is no confusion, It's only the neck including tuners, nut and string tree that is for sale.
